Bristol City Council’s Trading Standards Service is recruiting a Principal Officer. Completing the new management structure as part of an ongoing service review, this represents an exciting new era as we embrace the developing neighbourhood agenda.

You will be leading the Business Support and Compliance team. Providing regulatory support to businesses across all functional areas including food, fair trading safety, responding to consumer complaints and providing consumer advice to the vulnerable, you can help make a real difference to people and communities.

You must have an appropriate trading standards qualification or an equivalent legal or professional qualification with a significant proven track record of investigatory and compliance experience, together with effective supervisory/management and communication skills.

A new Child Protection Notetaker is required to join the Child Protection Conference Service based at Broadwalk Annexe.

This service is responsible for arranging multi-agency child protection conferences in various locations around Bristol. You will attend these conferences and will be responsible for ensuring that the discussions and outcomes are recorded accurately. You will work closely with Reviewing Managers, Social Workers and professionals from external agencies and will be expected to effectively manage a busy workload.

You will deal with child protection issues in a professional manner and will adhere to strict confidentiality and information security guidelines at all times.
