An opportunity has arisen to work within Health and Social Care at School Road Respite Unit in Brislington, as an Administration Assistant. School Road Respite Unit is a 7 bedded unit for adults with learning difficulties.

Key tasks will include:

To provide general office administrative support, which includes;
• Responding to a range of written, telephone and ‘face to face’ enquiries from a variety of sources (internal / external).
• Maintenance/archiving of files.
• To operate IT equipment and provide full word processing service. Typing; (reports/letters/memo’s and attendance at meetings and production of notes).
• To amend maintain spreadsheets, databases + other systems as required.
• As required to order goods/services, including cash handling, keeping financial records.

This post is held within Health and Social Care, Longer Term Services at the Bristol 600 Day Centre, Knowle. The Centre cares for service users with higher end care needs on a daily basis. Under the general supervision of the Centre Manager or Senior Group Worker (where applicable) you will be a member of the Centre staff team providing personal, social, handicraft and occupational skills and attending to the physical and personal needs of centre users, within the policies and practices of the Department. You will encourage groups of service users to participate in creative, group and recreational activities, assuming responsibility for supporting and monitoring groups of individuals as directed.
