Sex offender at large
Police have issued an urgent appeal for the public’s help to trace a man wanted on recall to prison.
Dean Goodwin, aged 29 is a registered sex offender who may be in the Bridgwater area.
He is described as a white man, about 5ft 10ins tall of muscular build with short cropped dark brown hair.
He was last seen in the Bridgwater area this afternoon and was wearing a blue T-shirt and light coloured knee-length shorts.
Police say that Dean Goodwin is considered potentially dangerous and have urged anyone spotting him not to approach him but to call them immediately on 999.
Police have also warned young women who are on a night out to try to avoid becoming separated and remain in a group or with a friend.
They should endeavour to arrange for a relative to pick them up at the end of the night or arrange order a taxi.
UPDATE: Police have confirmed that absconder Dean Goodwin, who is wanted on recall to prison for a breach of his licence, has been spotted at Temple Meads station in Bristol.
He was reported to have been dropped off by taxi at the station at about 3.30pm on Friday August 7, where he bought a ticket to an as yet, unknown destination.
He is described as a white man, aged 29 years, 5ft 10ins tall, of heavy build with short cropped dark coloured hair. At the time he was last seen he was wearing a blue T-shirt, with a grey coloured fleece top over the top, dark trousers or jeans and dark coloured shoes.
He is believed to have friends in the Gloucestershire, Bath and Dorset areas.
The public are requested to remain vigilant but not to approach Dean Goodwin if they spot him. They should call the police immediately on 999.
