Remix wants to inspire kids about music
Young people in Bristol, aged seven to 11 are invited to ‘get inspired’ about music this Saturday, September 26 by signing up for a five-week music-making course at Colston Hall.
Remix, Bristol’s Youth Music Action Zone, is running the course alongside Sing Up! – the government’s national singing programme. Both schemes are aimed at getting young people more involved with singing and music-making and are hosted by Colston Hall.
Children will take part in hands-on singing, song-writing and percussion workshops led by experienced tutors and will learn to play instruments and record and write their own music. No musical experience is necessary – children are welcome to attend even if they’ve never tried anything musical before.
Remix’s Director, Mijanou Blech, said: ‘Remix is all about getting young people to give music-making a try no matter what their ability. This course is a great opportunity for children to try different activities and hopefully discover a talent and a passion for music they never knew they had.’
