Under the Landlord Transformation Programme the above post has been created as part of the move to change the way the repairs services operates to our council housing stock. This post is one of two Responsive Repair Managers each responsible for an area of the city.

The post will be responsible for the process overseeing the repair works carried out from start to completion, ensuring the delivery of high quality work, getting work done ‘right first time’ and achieving high customer satisfaction within budgetary targets and providing a value for money service.

The Responsive Repairs Manager will be responsible for the day to day management and development of non trade staff. They will also take the lead on the monitoring and development of repairs policies, and legislative changes, seeking best practice, new ideas and innovative solutions ,and ensuring they are applied within the Service.

They will also lead and promote customer engagement in the responsive repairs service seeking to empower and enable customers to make decisions on how the service is delivered.

Applicants will need to have;

• At least two years proven management experience, including the supervision of professional or technical staff
• At least three years experience working in social housing
• Excellent communication skills, using oral, written and electronic media, so that information is clearly understood and acted upon including the provision of written reports suitable for use in court, ombudsman cases or similar.
• Ability to set and manage performance to a high standard for teams, individuals and sub-contractors
