If you are a permanent employee of Bristol City Council this would be a secondment opportunity for which you will need your line managers approval before applying.
This post would be suitable for a qualified Occupational Therapist who has some relevant experience in both working with children and Local Authority work.
The major part of your role will be to assess the needs of disabled children and their carers and recommend appropriate interventions, which will primarily be around specialist equipment and adaptations. You will work closely with Health, Housing, Social Work and SEN colleagues as well as other agencies both internally and externally, to provide a high quality service.
You will need to be a motivated individual with excellent communication skills. You will also need to demonstrate a commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and to working within the Social Model of Disability.
You will be supervised by the Senior Practitioner OT and managed by the OT manager.
For more information or an informal chat please contact Sally Hunter, OT manager: 0117 903 8250.
