Please note this post is only open to employees of Bristol City Council.
This post is part of the first phase of changes within the newly formed Business Change and ICT Service. Our role is to deliver high quality support to all of the council’s directorates in delivering successful business and IT enabled change, to achieve business outcomes.
This is an exciting time to join us as the Council delivers its ambitious change portfolio. You’ll be part of the team directly involved in supporting all programmes and projects to ensure we are successful in achieving our shared goals for the organisation.
The postholder will be responsible for managing a newly integrated team of Business Analysts and Solution Architects within Business Change Services.
The Business and Solutions Design Team will produce a range of key business analysis and solution architecture deliverables which support change programmes and projects to develop their future ‘design blueprint’ for service delivery -for example, in relation to future business process and organisation design, business requirements, and evaluation and design of enabling technology solutions.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication and ‘customer-facing’ skills to establish effective working relationships with a diverse range of internal customers and stakeholders. A key element of the role will be working closely with senior sponsors, programme and project managers, ‘subject matter experts’ within a range of service areas, and colleagues in Business Change and ICT.
He / she will also need to have the logical aptitude and analytical skills to develop an understanding of business analysis and solution architecture, plus excellent people management and project delivery experience.
While experience of business and IT enabled change programmes/ projects will be an advantage, this is also an opportunity for an experienced, business-focussed and analytical manager from elsewhere in the Council to gain exposure to working in a ‘change programme / project’ environment.
The role offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for the right candidate to become involved in a diverse range of change initiatives working with colleagues from across the whole organisation at all levels, and to make a difference in shaping and improving how we deliver services to the public,
If you are considering applying and would like an informal discussion to understand better what the role involves, please phone Declan Cooney on 92 24971.
