Bristol City Council’s ICT Service Desk is looking for a 1st/2nd line IT support analyst, to join them on their busy Service Desk – the Service Desk currently has a user community of around 8,000.

Your challenge will be to :

record and resolve incidents and service requests, mainly via telephone
perform systems administration/security in various areas of ICT
assist with the procurement and distribution of IT equipment to the user community.

This is a role for someone who is keen, dynamic and a highly motivated team player.

You will need to demonstrate that you can :

take responsibility for your own work and professionalism.
display excellent skills in the areas of directory services, desktop, remote and mobile support
communicate effectively with users of all abilities with the ability to absorb and relay technical information whilst using a variety of support tools and processes.
identify and resolve problems working within SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and in a variety of environments.

The role also requires the need for an understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and the appreciation for efficient, customer focussed delivery to budget and time. Knowledge of LANDesk’s ‘Servicedesk’ system would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience in an IT Servicedesk environment and be adaptable to a frequently changing environment

Successful applicants who are shortlisted will be required to take a technical test.
