The Premises Service is a high profile valued service within Facilities Management at Bristol City Council, combining the teams of Accommodation and Building Services. Our vision is to provide and maintain facilities that are fit for purpose and enable staff and visitors to achieve their desired outcomes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking leader with excellent facilities management skills and extensive facilities management experience. You will bring substantial knowledge and experience in the management of buildings and facilities, particularly office accommodation and also knowledge of space management. You will be educated in management or business studies to a minimum of NVQ level 4 or equivalent.

You will be required to be a good negotiator and be diplomatic, you must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. You must be self-motivated, and able to deliver strong results under pressure and keen to develop professionally.

You will be responsible for providing an effective, high quality and compliant Premises Service; be accountable for the Premises management in support of annual service delivery plans of the Premises Service, Facilities Management and Corporate Services. You will provide advice to the Facilities Management Service Manager, staff and visitors, and you will work in partnership with other Bristol City Council departments.

Part time 23 hours, fixed term to Jan 2013 to cover maternity leave

If you are a permanent employee this post can only be taken as a secondment and if shortlisted you will be asked to bring your managers written approval for a secondment to interview. Permanent employees cannot resign their substantive post to take up a secondment or a Fixed Term Contract.

If you are currently on a Fixed Term Contract or a member of the in house employment agency (currently in a placement) this will be a Fixed Term Contract.

School Road is a seven – bedded unit, providing respite care to adults with learning difficulties. As Care Officer, you will be required to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep – ins.

Duties include providing the highest standard of care to service users, keywork duties including maintenance of care plans, management and administration of medication. Duties also include directing and organising Care Assistants and ancillary staff whilst on shift.

You must have good communication skills and work well within a team. You will support the team with all aspects of Health and safety.
