Following the retirement of the previous post holder, we are seeking an experienced, and dynamic Manager (from either adults or childrens/ families services) to manage our small but active and busy social work team supporting people from abroad with No Recourse to Public Funds, including unaccompanied minors, adults and families.

The team undertake or have input into the following assessments – community care, child in need, human rights and age assessments. Work involves a great deal of liaison and multi professional/ multi agency working, so sensitive partnership and communication skills are essential. With the correct interpretation/ following of Government guidance and case law a priority the post holder must work closely with legal advisers, and should have an interest in social policy/ law.

The post holder will need to evidence understanding of the issues affecting diverse communities, and a commitment to transparency and equity. Experience of budget and staff management are more important than existing experience with asylum seekers, as training and support could be provided to the right candidate.

The Commissioning and Performance team in Strategic Housing are currently in the process of reviewing and recommissioning homelessness prevention services. (These include a range of emergency hostel accommodation, smaller specialist accommodation based services, floating support services and other related support services).

We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of this area of work to help develop an overarching move-on strategy and to support the review of pathways accommodation and floating support services.

Direct experience in commissioning and planning services addressing homelessness or Supporting People funded services would be advantageous.
Good project management, communication and analytical skills are crucial to this role. You must have experience of analysing complex spreadsheets and databases.

This post provides the opportunity to be creative in seeking new solutions, and finding effective ways of working in partnership with service providers and on a cross departmental basis.

As part of the Harbour Office Administration Team you will provide administrative support to a diverse service area, which carries out the Local Authorities statutory Duties in relation to vessel licencing, navigation and maintenance of vital City Docks infrastructure.

You will be expected to provide an excellent frontline reception service, in a busy marine leisure environment. Coordinating incoming phone calls from docks service users, duty staff, contractors, service providers and all stakeholders. Providing direct support to the Office Supervisor and Administration Officer and carry out office tasks such as data processing, filing, typing, cash handling and finance associated tasks.

Excellent communication skills will be required along with attention to detail and sound organisation and prioritisation abilities. It is also essential that you can work on your own initiative as well as within a small administrative team

Overall, the post is busy and challenging but we have a well-established team and the right candidate will find the working atmosphere rewarding and supportive.

We are looking for enthusiastic planning students to work in a busy Development Management team. The contracts are offered initially for 6 months but there may be an opportunity for this to be extended to 12 months.

You will be responsible for dealing with straightforward planning applications and enforcement cases and will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of the service in terms of meeting targets and providing a high quality customer focused service.

You will have started a full time RTPI undergraduate Town Planning course and will have a basic understanding of Development Management. You will also have good communication skills and the ability to work on your initiative though support and training will be provided.
